Masterpieces...eh-hem...I mean good tries

Here are my first attempts at artwork. Ha, ha. I invested in some Mod Podge (is that what it's called?) and set off on my own.

My first attempt at being artistic was painting this ugly old (but great framed) wooden basket. I've thought more thoroughly about it since and probably would have gone with the white I originally thought about, but didn't pick due to some brain malfunction. Brenda will still like it because I tried, right Brenda?

The silver is obviously not the best color, but I thought it might look like galvanized steel (which it doesn't). Then, I decided to put Brenda's name on it and Caitlin got to pick out the name stickers. At least Brenda will always know it is hers. HA!

These two trays are something I've had "in the works" for at LEAST two years (maybe more, sadly). I found them (unstained) at Michael's and decided I was going to make them something special. I stained them (possibly last summer, maybe the summer before, who can remember?), waited for DAYS for them to dry (who knew I was supposed to wipe them after applying the stain?), then just sort of, kind of forgot about them. I finally decided to "GET SOME OF THOSE PROJECTS DONE" this past week end and kicked out three different items. Wow. Some kind of feat for those who haven't an artistic bone in their bodies.

This last piece is something Caitlin and I are working on for her bedroom. I've wanted to hang something that matches her "theme" for quite some time (and probably bought these canvases a few years ago). Today, I went to the store, bought some white paint (to lighten the current pink we have) and Caitlin went to town painting the background color. We bought some wallies at a garage sale (again, most likely two years ago) and thought we could make a pretty picture (or two - we might do both) for her wall. We will probably mod podge it tomorrow! Yeah! What do you think?

Maybe Brenda is starting to wear off on me. Who knew? (I saw BEADS on sale at JoAnn Fabrics this afternoon, while I was buying the white paint. It made me a little crazy thinking they were calling out to me to start making my own jewelry! I might go back tomorrow to look at them all again. I will most likely need a new project two years from now. Right?)

You are crafting crazy! Mod Podge has addictive qualities so guard yourself. Beads have called out to me at the store, too but so far...I have resisted. Maybe next time you visit we should go get some?! We can learn it together. Love the tin, thanks for thinking of me. Now I am off to the car-Salem, here we come!
